Missing Link is a stop motion animated adventure film directed by Chris Butler. The voice casts includes Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana and Emma Thompson.
For those who are unfamiliar with stop motion animated films, it takes a tremendous amount of time in creating every scene. Everything is done frame by frame such as the characters movements and gestures. The sets are completely created from scratch, the environment, the paintings and the artistry that goes into it is surreal.
Sir Lionel Frost is an investigator that tries to find mythical creatures. In order for Sir Lionel Frost to be accepted to a society called Great Men, he has to prove to them that any mythical creature he finds is real by providing evidence. Frost is told that there is a Sasquatch in the Pacific North West. If its true, he will be accepted to the society. He travels to the Pacific Northwest and meets this Sasquatch also dub as Mr. Link but things take a turn when the Sasquatch ask’s him for his help. Mr. Link is trying to find his ancestors in the Himalayan’s and so Frost decides to help him.
The film was produce in Laika Studios, Hillsboro, Oregon. Laika is known for producing films such as Coraline (Tim Burton), ParaNorman and Kubo and the Two String.
