When it comes to horror and fairy tale movies, I would have to say Guillermo del Toro is one of my favorite directors. From Pan's Labyrinth to Pacific Rim, his cinematography approach to color is symbolic. As seen in the video above, he uses vivid colors to represent different emotions. Red representing, violent, danger, pain and anger. Blue representing wet, dark, cold, sad and death. Yellow represents joy, treasure, hope and happiness. He then combines all these colors to compose different emotions in story telling. Check out the video above by Quentin Dumas.
